Greenhill’s Outdoor Education

Here at Greenhill School we have an inspiring and thriving Outdoor Education program, which embeds and underpins our whole ethos of a bespoke, pupil centered curriculum. Our learning in the outdoors is enjoyable, creative, challenging and adventurous and helps our young people learn by experience and grow as healthy, confident and responsible citizens.Img 2848

Our main aims are to fulfil the student’s needs and to give them experiences which inspire character development and self-discovery, through challenge and adventure and to impel pupils to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Through their personal journeys in the outdoors they learn how to form positive relationships, how to co-operate with peers and staff, dramatically improve their self-esteem and self-confidence and learn that with persistence they can achieve anything in their grasp.

Research shows that learning in the outdoors, particularly when including residential and adventurous experiences, is hugely beneficial for mental health and wellbeing and for us as a school this is all the evidence we need to keep doing what we’re doing!
